My first taste of advertising was age 15 when I was cast as “teenager on phone” in a TV ad for a now defunct telecom company. Earning me £600 and a full year of bullying, the ad was a resounding disaster – with the company going bust a couple of months later. Fortunately my more recent experience with advertising has gone a little bit better.
I'm a multi-award winning freelance creative director and copywriter working in Dublin on and off for the last 12 years. My work has been awarded at the Cannes Lions, EPICAs, Eurobest, Kinsale Sharks, ICAD, ADFX, the Webbies and a few others. You can have a look at some of the more recent stuff through the menu on the left.
Most recently I was Creative Director at Rothco | Accenture Interactive - Ireland's largest ad agency based in Dublin. Prior to that, I was Creative Director of their sister agency Guns or Knives; and before that again, a senior writer in Rothco. In my time with the Rothco Group I've worked on brands including the National Lottery, Fáilte Ireland, Dairygold, Heineken, Meteor, Eir, AIB and mytaxi.
I was a senior copywriter in Irish International BBDO working on Carlsberg, Aer Lingus, Guinness EBS, Today FM and a few others. I’ve also bounced around Dublin freelancing in agencies including Boys and Girls and McCann Erickson.
Outside of advertising I've written comedy for stage, television and film, with credits on RTÉ2, BBC3, Channel 4 as well as feature films for 2Entertain, Fastnet Films, Ashmore Films and the Irish Film Board.
I was a part of the multi-award winning comedy group Dead Cat Bounce, with whom I performed at all the world’s major comedy festivals; including Montreal Just For Laughs, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Melbourne Comedy Festival and many others.
I was also briefly a member of Whitesnake... Genuinely.
I am currently taking a break from advertising to make my second feature feature film with Fastnet Films and the Irish Film Board. However, I will be available intermittently for freelance projects. If you’d like to get in touch just drop me a message on the contact page.
